Jewelry Drawer Makeover
Over time I have collected quite a few jewelry pieces. I however, have not found (nor really taken the time to look) for perfect jewelry storage. I have some necklaces hanging, some pieces on a few ring trays around my closet and bathroom and pieces in random jewelry cases. Basically I've got jewelry everywhere and completely unorganized. And it completely irritates me!
For sometime now I've been thinking about fun ways to display and store everything in my closet at our new house. I like being able to see what I have (I tend to forget about certain pieces If I cant see them) but also want it to be organized and not cluttered. I decided to start with my Kendra Scott collection, these pieces aren't cheap so I like keeping them nice and have just been keeping them in their individual storage bags. I can't even begin to tell you how much time I've wasted searching through all the individual storage bags trying to find the one piece I was looking for.
If you've been to Marshalls/HomeGoods or browsed Amazon lately you've probably seen all the great acrylic storage! I bought this storage case for $16 and decided to give it a little makeover to add a personal touch.
All you need is an affordable acrylic case, felt, scissors and jewelry and about 10 minutes of your time. Cut felt to size to fit each individual drawer. (I chose felt so the jewelry wont slide around when opening drawers). You could glue down with dots of hot glue, but if you cut to exact size the felt will stay in place on its own. I chose white to keep it neutral and to go with all of the white and gold in my new closet. But how fun would a pop of color be inside the case?!
And voila! A new jewelry case for under $20! This 6 drawer case surprisingly fit way more than I thought it would. I have 19 pieces of KS jewelry in here and as you can see I have lots of room for more Kendra Scott pieces. I can't wait to make another one for all of my statement earrings.
What are some of your favorite jewelry storage solutions? I'm looking for some other ideas so I have a variety in my closet.
