2016, What a Year!
As 2016 comes to an end I thought it would be fun to reflect on the year and recap some of my favorite moments. We had quite a year from vacations to weddings to concerts to starting to build a new home and even starting my blog and everything in between. 2016 will be hard to beat! Here are some of my favorite moments from this incredible year.
January was packed with fun-filled trips to Manhattan. We started off the new year with a trip to Manhattan with some friends to watch a K-State basketball game (and managed to get upgraded to a free suite) and to watch the bowl game at some of our favorite Aggieville bars. A few weeks later we returned to Manhattan to meet up with Jared and Veronica to celebrate Jared's birthday spending the night pretending like we were still in college (I sure can't hang like I used to!)
While I'm not a fan of cold weather and much prefer any time of the year except winter, Kauffman is a big fan. Snow days are his favorite days!
February rolled around and we were ready for some warm weather, so off to Mexico we went. We traveled to Secrets Akumal with our friends Tray and Randine.
In March we celebrated one of my dear friends weddings and I started a new job!
In March I accepted a new job with a different company. Still in Pharmaceutical Sales within the Women's Health market.
This summer we showered one of my oldest friends (we've known each other since we were babies) and celebrated her and her new baby boy, Grant.
On July 12 I officially launched my Lifestyle Instagram, "Lifestyled With Lindsay." This is something I have talked about and wanted to do for a while. I finally decided there is no time like the present. I absolutely love sharing outfit ideas, recipes and more and figured this would be a great way to share with you all.
Another football filled fall. As season ticket holders we make it to every home K-State Football game. Some of my best memories were from college and I am so thankful to have met someone who also went to Kansas State University (even though we didn't meet there) so we can share in our love of our alma mater. There's nothing like a Saturday in Manhattan.
In September Randine and I headed to Nashville for a long girls weekend. We did all things touristy while finding some of the best local restaurants. We enjoyed wineries, lots of country music and celebrated one of my favorite people ever getting married.
On October 14th we closed on our new lot! We have already enjoyed the process so much and can't wait to see the final product and our home we have been working so hard on! As of now we are hoping to be done sometime in August of 2017.
The day after closing on our new build we headed back to Mexico this time with our friends Levi and Brittaniee. We stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun. The weather was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the tequila was flowing. We had a great time and always love traveling with these two!
November rolled around so it was time for Friendsgiving. I absolutely love hosting and can't wait to make this an annual get together.
This girls night was hands down one of my favorite nights from 2016! These are my college girls and the girls that will always be there! I love how we can pick up right where we left off as if no time has passed.
We finished off our wonderful year with lots of family time! My parents came to Kansas City to celebrate Christmas early. Then we headed to Nolan's hometown to celebrate with his family. We continued our tradition of matching shirts while opening Christmas gifts. This will be our last Christmas in Salina as Nolan's parents are building just a few short miles from our new home!
I love looking back on the year as it's coming to an end. I forget how many wonderful memories we have made and am so excited to be able to document everything right here on my blog! I've never been a big one to make New Year's Resolutions but I do try to set new personal and professional goals. And this year I'll be adding some blogger goals to my list.
Personal Goals for 2017
-Read more! I love reading and already have a big list of books that I would like to read this year. Feel free to send any recommendations my way!
-Say "no" more to things that don't matter, and more "yes" to the things that do. I'm totally guilty of being a people pleaser and this year I'll be saying no more!
-Embrace turning 30. I am so excited to turn 30! My 20's have been great but I just know my 30's are going to be even better and I can't wait to see what they bring.
-Drink more water. This one I really need to focus on! Ever since I got my pretty gold S'Well bottle I've been better but still plenty of room for improvement. Here's to hydrating in 2017!
-More date nights. This year I want to spend more time focusing on quality time with Nolan (and Kauffman too). Even if our date night is cooking together at home I want to spend more quality time together focusing on us.
-Get more organized. As we pack up our current home and prepare for a move this year. I want to really organize all of our stuff and get rid of what we don't need! It's time to declutter and organize so we have a nice easy move.
-Have more girl time. The older I get the more I realize just how important having great girlfriends is! This year I'm going to take more time for my girls and focus on these relationships. More dinners, more pajama nights on the couch with wine and more long walks and girl chat. It's so good for the soul!
I hope everyone also had a wonderful 2016. And I hope your 2017 is even better. Cheers to the New Year!
