Mexico Vacation take me back!
One month ago today we left Kansas City and headed for a warm weeklong Mexico vacation with some dear friends, Levi and Brittaniee. A month ago today we were leaving on our relaxing vacation and life has been crazy since we got back! (we closed on our new build the day before leaving town, more to come on that exciting news!) Please take me back so I can lounge poolside with a pina colada in hand while ordering all the chips and fresh guac that I can eat and where my biggest decision of the day is what to wear to dinner or which restaurant to eat at. #vacalife
We flew into the Cancun airport, and right when you step outside there is a Margaritaville Bar, it's pretty much a rule you have to get a margarita for the ride to the resort (atleast in my books).
Margaritas in hand the four of us loaded into our stretch limo to head to our resort, Excellence Riviera Cancun. (note we typically ride in communal vans stuffed to the brim with luggage and passengers, so this was a nice surprise that our travel agent set up for us)
Is there anything better than outfit planning for a tropical vacation?! Since I get so excited about it, I start planning early. With that being said some of my dresses/outfits are no longer available, but I will do my best to link similar ones where I can. Below are some of my favorite outfits from the vacation, enjoy!
These black sunglasses are a must have and they are only $13.90! Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of designer sunglasses. But when it comes to a vacation where I know I'll be drinking and swimming in the ocean, the last thing I want to do is lose an expensive pair. So stylish and cheap sunglasses are my go to's for vacations! And Amazon is killing it with their selections lately.
This was probably my favorite dress that I wore in Mexico. Not only are loose, flowy dresses perfect for the laid back Mexico vibe, but they are more than necessary after eating and drinking for 7 days straight! Oh and insanely comfortable too!
We stayed at the Excellence Riviera Cancun, this was our first time staying at an Excellence resort. It wasn't our favorite all-inclusive resort that we've been to, but it also wasn't our least favorite. We had a junior swim-up suite that had direct access to the lazy river and our own outdoor jacuzzi. It was nice to have the swim-up at the quieter, more relaxed pool. Although, with that being said, the boys did purchase an inflatable beer pong table from a couple that was heading home, so they basically brought the party anywhere they went during the trip even the lazy river.
One of the things I did really like about the resort was their food options. There really was something for everyone, and plenty of choices so you never had to eat at the same place twice if you didn't want to. My favorite restaurants were Basmati (Indian Restaurant), Chez Isabelle (French Restaurant), Spice (Hibachi), and Flavor Market (Tapas Restaurant). The breakfast and lunch buffet's also had really good variety, even though I go for crepes with Nutella for breakfast everyday. When in Mexico, right?!
If you are in the process of planning a Mexico vacation please feel free to reach out to me! Here is the link to our resort. Now that we've been back home a month I think it's time to start planning our next vacation! What are some of your favorite all-inclusive resorts?
